On the return flight home, Jake and Brian are confronted with the political unrest he had been warned about when a group of Zimbabwe freedom fighters shoots down their commercial aircraft.
This act of terror also launches a series of events that leads to Brian’s death, the loss of Jake’s memory, and a most unlikely love affair between Jake and Sarah Malumbo, a comely African ministry worker. In fighting for survival they are forced to make many choices determining the fate of their family, both present and future.
